Charles Dickens’s 200th Birthday Writing Competition
Write a 500 word or less essay on, “What character should have appeared in a Dickens’s novel, but didn’t?” Winners will be chosen from two categories, high school students and over 18. The panel of judges will include Prof. Beth Torgerson and members of the Children Book Writers and Illustrators Society. Honorable mentions will also be selected from these two groups. All winners will be asked to read their essay at our Leap Day Celebration, Wednesday, February 29th – 7pm. $50 cash and a Tinman Gallery gift certificate will be awarded to the winners and honorable mentions will receive a Tinman Gallery gift certificate. All entries must be received no later than Wednesday, February 15.
